Today's cellar release is 2009 Deschutes' Mirror Mirror which was bottled 04/20/2009. Mirror Mirror is a barleywine with 35% aged in oak barrels. 11% ABV

This is NOT a traditional Barleywine; the beer got infected with Brettanomyces. Fortunately, I aged a case to see what it would taste like down the road, I can honestly say it's awesome. The Brett is big in the flavor but balanced with the original base-Barleywine maltiness. Again, this is NOT a traditional Barleywine, I'm calling it a Brett-Barleywine. I, personally, think it's wonderful.*
